You can order a free GeoTrax DVD from Fisher-Price. The DVD contains four (4) animated episodes based on the GeoTrax trains/characters. I posted about this DVD a while ago but since it is still available I thought I’d post about it again.

The DVD is completely free – there are no shipping/handling charges either! Just go to www.fisher-price.com and find and click on the link to GeoTrax. On the GeoTrax page click on “DVD” on the top menu bar and then click on the “Order Free DVD Now” button. The offer is one free DVD per household and it says it takes 12-14 weeks to arrive in your mailbox – (when I ordered the DVD it arrived in less time).

What I Am Reading Now

It has been a while since I sat down to read a book, although it is something I try to make myself do. I love to read but finding the time (and the peace and quiet) can be challenging. I am very guilty of buying books and putting them away after reading only a couple of pages. So it is not unusual for me to run across books in the house that I bought and never read. I did that recently and it just so happened that the book I ran across was exactly the book I needed to read at this moment in my life.

That book – the book I am reading now - is “The Confident Woman” by Joyce Meyer. I’ve had the book for a few years but had never made it past the first chapter or two for no reason other than getting distracted by other things. When I ran across it the other day and opened it up, I landed somewhere near the middle of the book and saw, in big, bold letters, “Part II – Living Boldly and Without Fear.” Being in the midst of circumstances that had me entrapped in fear I knew it was time to read this book! I started right there, in Part II. I am still reading, and re-reading Part II and letting it sink in. I look forward to going back and reading Part I – The God-Ordained Gift of Confidence. Joyce Meyer is a best-selling author of faith-based inspirational books.

Finally Getting Started (Again)!

I have finally managed to sit down and take a minute to focus on my blog again. I still don’t know exactly where it is headed but I guess we’ll see! I have been reading so many amazing blogs over the past few months. I am in awe of and quite humbled by the talent of some of the writers. So that has led me to really think long and hard about whether to try to continue the blog at all and, if I do, what subjects to focus on so that I am truly enjoying writing it and someone out there is truly enjoying reading it. I have decided to continue the blog. As for what to include, I’m still figuring that out.

The recipes will stay for sure – I love to cook and I love to share my favorite recipes. The general coupon info will stay as well, to an extent. I am a faithful user of coupons and have found them to be extremely helpful in managing a grocery budget for my family. However, it takes a lot of time to locate, clip and organize coupons for my own use. The additional time it takes to create posts and links for the ones I use plus the ones other people may be interested in is overwhelming. So I will continue to mention coupons that are too good to miss but will no longer attempt to create weekly coupon match-up lists for local grocery sale ads. There are A LOT of great coupon and freebie blogs out there and I will always post the links to the one I find the most beneficial. No need to reinvent the wheel here!

So here I go! I am curious to see how the blog evolves and hope that I will touch on something that someone finds informative, inspiring, helpful, interesting or better yet, all of the above!

Plans For The New Year

Fisher-Price currently has a great coupon available on their website. The coupon is for $20 off a $100 purchase of “Laugh & Learn” and/or “Go Baby Go” toys. This is a limited time offer and the coupon expires 12/1/09. Another great toy coupon to help with Christmas shopping! (You can always bring along a shopping buddy and join forces to reach the $100 minimum purchase amount.)

To print the coupon, just go to www.Fisher-Price.com and look for the link to the coupon offer. If you can’t find the link on the main page, click on “Special Offers” under the “Shop” tab. You have to register to receive e-mails/offers/coupons from Fisher-Price to get the printable coupon, but once you sign up the coupon will be sent to your printer automatically. If you are already on the Fisher-Price e-mail list, all you have to do is sign in to get the coupon. The coupon is only good for in-store purchases.

In the “Special Offers” section, you will also find a printable coupon for $5 off a Trio Building Set (the minimum pre-tax purchase on that one is $10).

On a side note, the Fisher-Price website has a great “Sale” section where you can find good deals on some of their toys. It’s definitely worth keeping an eye on!
