Recipes
I was born and raised in the Deep South and, to me, the South is synonymous with “comfort food.” I love food that makes me feel warm and cozy. Food that brings back fond childhood memories of walking into our kitchen at home or into my Pa and Mam-Maw’s kitchen. The smell of something warm and inviting cooking on the stove or in the oven. Food that just makes you happy when you eat it – you don’t know why, but it just does.
Well, I don’t live in the South anymore but I still enjoy comfort food. And, fortunately for me, I have come to learn that comfort food is a staple in the Midwest as well!! I will share a few of my favorite recipes in the links below – food that makes me happy. I would also love to hear your favorite recipes and include them here too (see the note below the recipe category links). It will be our own little recipe swap!
Note: If you would like to send me a recipe to consider including on the blog, please send it to me via e-mail at RushvilleMom@yahoo.com. Please include the source of the recipe, if you know it. For example, if it is from a particular cookbook or magazine, please let me know so I can cite the source. I want to be sure to give proper credit when possible! If you’re like me though, you probably have a collection of old recipes jotted down on recipe cards or scrap pieces of paper and have no clue where you got them. (Or, you’ve adapted a recipe so much that it has truly become your own!) That’s okay too! Send ‘em over!
